Thursday and Friday after school some of the pupils in Year 5 sold the loom bands they made. • Visit to a secondary school

    Published 28/04/19

"On Thursday 25th April Year 5 went to St John Bosco College. When we were there we met Mr Pinder who showed us to the cooking class. Then we met Miss Harris the cooking and English teacher. Miss Harris taught us how to make pizza on bread. It was an amazing trip and we got to experience what it is like to be or to start secondary school. We really liked it there. Hopefully we can go to another secondary school and experience different lessons as well.” Akua

    Book Week 4th - 8th March 2019.

We had such an exciting Book Week. Classes visited Waterstones in Piccadilly and were able to explore the book shop and spend their £1 book token. Miss Hallsworth ran drama workshops, staff from Penguin Random House ran quizzes and there was an opportunity for shared reading. The week was launched by a visit from an author, Alan Durant who inspired us all.

  • Internet Safety Day 2019

    Published 10/02/19

Tuesday was Internet Safety Day. This year the theme is giving permission and consent. I am really pleased to see Internet Safety Day is being covered by the press and that the news articles are continuing to raise the pupils and adults especially us parents’ understanding as to how we can continue to be safe online. “This year in the UK, Safer Internet Day will focus on how consent works in an online context and will ask young people to explore how they ask, give, and receive consent online. This could be in their friendships or relationships, how they take and share images and videos or how they manage their privacy and data.” taken from https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/2019.

The whole day on Tuesday we set aside for Internet Safety Day. KS2 had 4 lessons all exploring consent and permission on line. The children went to each class where each teacher led a different aspect of consent and permission. KS1 had similar lessons linked to their age groups. Each Key Stage started with an assembly.
