  • Children's Hospital appeal

    Published 05/11/19

    Dear Westminster Cathedral

Children's Hospital Pyjamas is a yearly appeal, we are a group of people who collect donations of pyjamas for boys and girls aged new-born to 18 to donate to hospitals up and down the UK. The hospitals then gift the pyjamas at Christmas time to EVERY poorly child, no matter their illness/injury. This means that every child has new pyjamas to wear for when Father Christmas visits on Christmas Eve. We would appreciate it if you can donate new pyjamas which will be given to the children. A collection point is in the school office. This appeal makes such a difference to the children and families in hospital over Christmas, it brings comfort and love at a very emotional and fearful time. We hope you join us in this amazing appeal.

    ‘Anti-bullying week’

    Monday 11th – Friday 15th November 2019

    Dear Parents and Carers,

Next week is ‘Anti-bullying week’. This year’s theme is ‘change starts with us’.

The children will have a whole-school assembly on Tuesday morning, followed by class discussions and PSHE lessons around the topic of bullying.

As a school, our main aims for the week are:

    • To understand the term bullying and what it means to be bullied.
    • To understand and describe strategies for dealing with conflict.

On Tuesday 12th November we would also like the children to come into school wearing their ‘odd socks’. This is to remind us that we are all unique. Boys can wear odd socks and girls have the option of colourful tights/odd socks. No donation is required.

We will also be holding an ‘anti-bullying’ poster competition. The competition is open to all children across the school. The winner will be included in our new and revised anti-bullying policy. The deadline is Thursday 14th November. Winner will be announced during our celebration assembly on Friday 15th November.

Thank you for your continuous support.

    Miss Figueiredo and Miss Simmons
