School Visit to see Archbishop Antonio Mennini
On Thursday 3rd December 2015 a group of children, staff and Governors went to visit Archbishop Antonio Mennini for lunch at his house in Wimbledon. This is the house where the Pope stays on his visits to England. It was an honour and a privilege to be invited by the Archbishop, who visited us last December and is now a very dear friend.
To be in his company is a very special experience. Once again he made a real and lasting impression on both the children and adults in attendance. It is quite something when you meet a very special person and they surpass any expectations that you may have had of them. He has asked to visit us later in the year and even suggested that we go back to visit him.
I am very grateful to Daniel Mazzanti’s parents for making this visit possible. The children that attended were a credit to the school - they sang for him; chatted to him in Italian and didn't make any mess when eating lunch!
