Bishop Emmanuel Badejo VisitÂ
On Thursday 19th May we were honoured and privileged to welcome Bishop Emmanuel Badejo to our school. It was a most wonderful and memorable experience and a day that the children, parents, staff and I will never forget.
He was on a short visit to England from Nigeria and found the time to be with us - we are very grateful.
The Bishop enjoyed a tour of the school led by the Head Boy and Head Girl - this included an impromptu music session in Year 6! He then sat down for an interview with a group of children from across the school. They were asking questions related to our Pentecost topic. The children learnt a great deal about how the Holy Spirit has guided the Bishop in all his works. We ended the day with a whole school assembly. I know that the Bishop was delighted to walk into a hall full of staff, children and parents. At the assembly he told us about his own calling and the importance of being respectful to our parents.
I was lucky enough to have a private audience with the Bishop in my office. To be given spiritual guidance by someone with such wisdom was a gift.
For those who were unable to be with us on the day, please take a look at the photos. I hope that these will give you some insight into what can only be described as a beautiful afternoon.
