Westminster Cathedral

Roman Catholic Primary School

Founded by
The Jesuit Fathers circa 1849

P.E & Clubs

At Westminster Cathedral Primary School, Physical Education is treated as equally as any other core subjects taught in the school. Children have two compulsory PE lessons a week covering a wide range of skills and activities which will benefit the children not just in a sporting sense but in their every day lives. (The curriculum map can be found at the bottom of the page).

Through PE and a variety of after school sports clubs,  we encourage the children to reach their full potential through various physical activities . Though a fit and healthy lifestyle is important in a child's life, Physical Education is all about learning and gaining new experiences. Therefore along with encouraging a healthy lifestyle, competitive nature and self reliance within sport, we give the children the best opportunities to improve their own abilities and build confidence within themselves.

We have been able to form strong links between other local schools through competing in sporting events such as football, basketball and netball. We have welcomed Millbank Academy, Burdett Coutts, St Vincent De Paul and St Peters to our school.

All PE lessons and sports clubs are taught and coached by qualified and experienced teachers/coaches.

Westminster Cathedral offers a wide range of extra curriculum sports clubs running from 3.30 to 4.30, using both the school hall and the playground.
