One World Week

This past week we were celebrating One World Week at school.

This past week we were celebrating One World Week at school. Activities were planned for the children to learn about a country in our wonderful world. Reception learnt about India, Year 1 about Brazil, Year 2 learnt about Thailand and Year 3 learnt about Jamaica. Year 4 learnt about China and Year 5 about Ireland and finally Year 6 learnt about Italy.

The end of the week was a lovely celebration of all the children had learnt and were able to share their own personal experiences of other countries around the world. Children and staff came to school wearing clothing that represents a country and in assembly on Friday the children showcased some of their learning. This included a conversation in Italian; Irish dancing; facts about China; sharing art work of the Jamaican flag and masks; facts about Thailand; a quiz for us to guess the country Year 1 learnt about was Brazil and Reception shared their learning about India, standing up in front of the whole school for the first time. The whole week concluded with a wonderful International Celebration.
