Inter-school Chess competition

On Wednesday we held a chess competition in school. Three other schools joined us; St Gabriel’s, Millbank and St Joseph’s, Chelsea.

The competition was arranged by us in school but managed on the day by staff from CSC—Chess in Schools and Communities who provide our weekly Chess lessons and club. These weekly Chess lessons for Years 3-5 has had a huge impact as our school won the overall competition receiving the highest number of points and students from our school getting the highest number on their score cards.

I would like to say congratulations to our Chess Team; Year 3; Dylan, Edward, Samira. Year 4; Jaibin, Julian, Daniel, Thomas M, Willard. Year 5; Yeva, Fionn, Jean-Paul, Dylan, Alexa, Yukana, Mia Bella. This is the third competition our school has been involved in this past year since Chess has been introduced into our school and the children just get better and better—a very positive impact in our school.
