Bishop Hudson's Visit

On Wednesday,  6th February 2019 we had the pleasure of Bishop Nicholas Hudson visiting our school.

On Wednesday we had the pleasure of Bishop Nicholas Hudson visiting our school. His visit was linked to his visit to Holy Apostles last weekend. Bishop Hudson led the school assembly by reading a Gospel reading from John 21, this led beautifully into him explaining his job and mission as a Bishop. Bishop Hudson then showed the children his Crosier (his Bishop’s hook) and his Mitre (his Bishop’ hat). It was wonderful watching Bishop Hudson take each object out of his bag and revealing it to the children. He showed the children the image on his crosier which is of Jesus on the cross and his Apostles which is very appropriate to the name of our parish. At the end of assembly we sang to Bishop Hudson and gave him a birthday card as it is his birthday next week. We shared with Bishop Hudson our joy in celebrating birthdays and so sang to him, presented him with a birthday card and a birthday sticker!

After assembly, Bishop Hudson spent time with the staff thanking them for all they are doing for our community and spent time in each class. He spoke to each class and gave them all a blessing.

Bishop Hudson left after a couple of hours. He said that even though he was at our school for a couple of hours he felt as though he has left knowing the school, the staff and the pupils. I am so proud of the children, Bishop Hudson commented on how much the children knew about their Catholic Faith and Christianity and how prayerful and reflective the children are.
