HISTORY
Our aim in teaching History is to give
the children an understanding of the present in the context
of the past and to give them a knowledge and understanding
of their own cultural roots and heritage.
At Key Stage 1 we aim to introduce the
children to a sense of the past by exploring their own
experiences and comparing them to those who lived in the
past.
At Key Stage 2 the children study
specific periods e.g. the Romans, The Tudors by using a
variety of resources, including artefacts and historical
documents. Frequent visits are made to museums to broaden
the children’s experiences.
